You are right. The '54's have the fin on top of the headlight ring and the dash is different. Pictures of that '53 convertible are poor and don't show the rear of the car which is also different on a '54 model. Agree this car is really overpriced. I'm thinking about $1k should be enough. There are a lot of trashed 1950's Packards out there for sale right now and I doubt that very many of them will ever be restored.

The seller knows it’s a 1953 but said he made a mistake when typing it although I’m not sure why he didn’t go back and correct the error! Maybe he doesn’t know how to do so.

That looks decent for the money. I heard they weren't making those any more.

Few new FB Packard posts:

1940 110 Convertible Coupe. Very rough, but possibly restorable. Body panels do not look like they are beyond saving. Car is partially disassembled and there is a big pile of parts to go with it. Looks like there may be some 120 stuff in there, including a pair of side mount fenders. Seller says he has all parts to complete the car. Will require a significant effort, so not for the faint hearted. Asking $3,500. Ohio:

1939 1703 Super Eight Sedan. Same seller as above. Very solid, unmolested original car. Shows patina but I think you could get away with leaving this one pretty much alone and enjoy it as a nice driver. Not running and will require some work to put back on the road. Looks very elegant in black with the dual mounts. These '39 Super Eights are impressive cars. Years ago, I had a friend in the hobby who owned one and it was used in the wedding for another friend of mine. Asking $8K.

1942 Clipper Eight Sedan. Rough and rusty parts car but complete. Ad states engine turns, and car was last run in 1955. Probably overpriced at $3K. Yreka, CA:

1936 120 Touring Sedan. Looks like a nice driver quality car. Older restoration with an incorrect velour interior but overall not bad. Seller asking $17K. Corning, CA:

The pile of parts for the 1940 seems pretty extensive but of the fenders and grilles that I can see, they are for senior models or at least the fenders have side mount wells which means that are not 110 and the grilles have too few bars to be junior. Maybe some of the ones farther back may be proper, though. In any event, it looks restorable with lots and lots of work and even appears to have overdrive which for 1940 would be R9. If I were 50 years younger I would be tempted!
