Still I don't think I'm certain you aligned it properly.

Is your oil pan dented way in or something? It should not hit the pan but it might get close. I would guesstimate it's about 5/16 between the arm and pan in reverse. Drawing shows Park, note the arc drawn which is the swing angle.

Here is a video of the linkage operation. This one is kind of loose but it shows you.youtube.com/shorts/8VWbsWP6gmA?si=NLFC9LZKY-UjmBNx

If you put it in park then simply rock it "over the hump" you are in Neutral, then you should click into H, D, L, R in succession. R should feel the same, you should not feel a "ting" before it seats properly. Only if you turn it slightly past R should you feel resistance.

At this point the car goes into reverse, but in "high" it is in low gear. No matter how I adjust the actuator, pushing the "high" button always gives me low gear. When I removed the actuator and installed the shifter arm from a non push button car, setting it in high manually, car was in high.

So pressing "High" when in "Reverse" results in "Low".
Do you get "Low" when moving from either direction, for example do you get "Low" if you press "High" when in "Park"?

Do all of the other pushbuttons result in the consistent selection of the correct gear?

Has any work been done on any of the pushbutton components?

Perhaps a call to Mr. PushButton is in order!

I assume he may actually be going into Drive instead of High, and Low instead of Reverse, meaning his adjustment could just be one off. It's a possiblity.
