Getting ready for next round of "fun" on the car.
I pulled the cowl vent out. That took me longer than pulling the actual engine. The fasteners are awkward to get to. But the biggest issue was tring to remove small slotted screws that are rusted in place and just want to cam out very turn. Anyway, with that out of the way, I figure the most prudent thing to do was disconnect as much remaining wiring as I could and then bag up the harness and fusebox. The only point where all harness comes together and can't be removed is where the harness goes through driverside kick panel area and either forward to the engine bay or back to the rear of the car. So I bundled everything up, double bagged it, and then duct tapped in closed. I basically did the same thing on my 54 when I was doing all the bodywork. My next job is going to be patching the passenger side door. This was the side of the car that was facing the outward when the car lived under a carport in California for many years. I am sure the door cavity collected trash and whatnot, which then held in all the moisture. Which then Swiss cheesed the bottom panel of the door and the bottom section of door skin. So, that's going to be a fun repair job.
