Hello.... I am a brand new member to the website....I do not own a Packard but my grandson and I tinkered with a 1948 for a bit and found it beyond our skill level.... After retirement and as a hobby I tinker with antiques and primitives....at a recent local auction I purchased a intake and exhaust manifold for what the auction operators claim is for a 1935 V12 Packard.... They seem to be in unusually good condition.... I have a couple of questions if it is permitted on the forum.... Was there anyone making reproductions of these? Was it common practice to have these recoated with what I assume porcelain? Is there tell tell signs that would determine if they were recoated?....if refurbished and recoated is that as negative in regards to value?

Both manifolds have clearly been used but the coating is in excellent condition, every one I have seen online for sale appears to have lost the vast majority of the coating..... Thanks

Last I heard, getting them recoated is like $1500 so if the coating is perfect then they have a lot of value. But they will be hard to sell since very few people work on the V12.
