Wanting a Speedo drive pinion, or even better the gear and holder assembly to fit an R9 overdrive.

Or information on any other brand pinion gear that will fit , I can make the holder.
I have one from an Ultramatic but unfortunately way too big.

per the the photo. Thanks ... Don

You'll need to know the rear axle ratio to ensure the right number of teeth on the driven gear (17,18, or 19 teeth, I think).
See the parts manual on this site to look it up.

After you get your differential ratio and are ready...look in the parts book. It will have number of teeth for the drive gear and part number. Then try John Ulrich or Max Merritt...post that data here and someone else may be able to help you.

I have found if I do the part#, teeth research plus a photo of what your looking (if possible), people go out of their way to aid/abet.

Cheers

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned the tooth count is not important as I'll be using a not standard speedo and non standard rear axle ratio, so need to be using a speedo correcter box .

Some years ago (12+?) I purchased the OD adaptor piece off Gerry at Packards Southwest, to convert the R9 trans and OD I bought from a bloke in SA, so it became LHD compatable for the LHD Packard I owned at the time. Packard Southwest's contact details are in this Directory. Gerry may have what you want?

Well, unless you are using a Hudson or motorcycle speedometer, the input cable speedometer will still be 1000rpm=60mph.

Dont tell anyone but I'm using a Jeep GPW Speedometer (it suits the 'vibe' of the car I'm building) , I can put it in the lathe & see how many RPM @ 60 mph.

I'm curious why you posted this here instead of in the blog for your build where it would stay in context?

I have a few for an R-9 with different teeth counts. I paid $50. For each. I would sell for the same.
