Hello everyone,
I am designing a headlight courtesy delay module. This would keep your headlights on for about 90 seconds after you open a door, to light up the area. This feature is ubiquitous in modern cars but absent in our old cars. Features: - Compatible with 6V or 12V, positive or negative ground cars. - Module can function whenever a door is opened (including getting in the car), or only after the ignition has recently been turned off. (The latter optional at extra cost). - Module can switch headlights, courtesy lights (senior cars), or both. ("Courtesy" or "Both" ability optional at extra cost.) - All necessary pigtails included. Wires color-matched for easy installation at the headlight switch. Modules with the "ignition sense" feature will have an extra wire to go to the ignition terminal. Modules with the "courtesy" feature will have an extra one to go to the door switch. Still deciding on pricing but it will not be too much, considering it's a custom module with a 3D printed case, and several pigtails. For a point of comparison, this universal one is $92, but I am targeting about half that. I can add adjustable delay as well. ![]() Photos and wiring diagram coming soon.
