I have the paint and trim codes for my Packard. I found the paint codes in the archives. However they dont list my WG anywhere.

There is a supplemental 54 chart Ditzler Paint provided to their dealers listing a GW combination and I believe it was mentioned on the forum a few weeks ago that certain two tone combinations could be reversed if the customer so desired and dealer so ordered. Yours being WG sounds as if your car might have been one of those with a requested change however if the avatar under your posting name is of your car it looks as if it now has a black top instead of the Sahara Sand the W would have been.

Thank you. Yes that is my car, Red/black. My FIL told me at one time it had a white top, the Sahara Sand is close so it makes sense.
The inside is red/gray looks like leather trimmed seats. Is there a way to track it back to buy date?
I would like to know what it was bought with, besides the standard equipment.

If the car is mostly unmolested there is a small chance a build slip will still be taped to the metal dust shield that is under the dash positioned above the glovebox. Build slip is a narrow strip of teletype paper with a line or two of numbers and letters often with some handwritten notations. The paper will be very brittle so if it is found take care in getting it off the metal. Another place build slips have been found is folded into a small square bundle and stuffed between the fill pipe and vent tube somewhere along the length between the gas fill door and tank.

Thanks, I took a look both places, but no such luck. Back to the search...

Why not remove a door card? Often painters get lazy and you can see the original color under there. Note: Packard primer is pink, not gray.

For roof color, you may have luck gently prying a small section kf weatherstripping off the car with a putty knife and peeking under. Again, to do a fine proper job when painting, the glass must be removed and the weatherstripping replaced as well, which is often not done.
