Both radiators are at the shop to see if either one can be saved. I'm not optimistic, which means my choice will be between recoring at $600+ or replacing with an aluminum and modifying it. Haven't heard back from them on the bad news yet.
I also removed the front seat again to get at the under seat heater. I had noted before that there was a crack forming on the mount for one of the motors and spring ![]() I don't know if the mounting is original or homemade. I used a call t to try and get the split back closer together. I mostly failed, but was at least able to weld it well enough to hold. Hopefully ![]() Cleaned up and painted ![]() Heater removed ![]() It was definitely wet under it and in the surrounding carpet pad ![]() Heater core looks okay, but I'll have the shop test it to see where it's leaking ![]() ![]()

Kevin I have 2 radiators in stock that I can sell at a very fair price, give me a shout if you need one. Both tested good and one is a recore.

Thanks, I may need to take you up on that. I'd prefer not to do the aluminum radiator if I can avoid it. With the rest of the engine bay being stock, it would stick out like a sore thumb. My only concern is how well do radiators ship?

I can build a complete wood/plywood box for it with foam inside, so it won't be a problem. Let me know ASAP as it will be a bit of lead time to build the crate.
A radiator is like 28x29x5, so I assume the crate will be about 32x33x9. I am having a hard time finding a reasonable shipping service. RockAuto uses FedEx Ground for a new rad at $42, but if I quote my dims it's almost $200, so I will have to keep looking I guess. I usually get good rates through eBay. I made a temp posting to test, and it gave me a FedEx rate of only $85. Probably as good as anything.

If you are building a wooden crate, it's going to be more than what UPS or FedEx are willing to take. Fastenal will move pallets or LTL between stores for cheap rates. Might be worth checking there. ----I'd much prefer wood versus cardboard for shipping a hard to find radiator.
