Copart.com has three Packards listed on its website as of this morning:

1948 Deluxe Eight Sedan. Deteriorated older resto with an incorrect white vinyl interior. Badly needs a paint job. Large areas of surface rust indicating long term outdoor storage. Looks relatively solid and complete. Memphis, TN:

1953 Clipper Deluxe Sedan. Model No. 2662. Appears to be a partially completed amateur restoration. Car in black primer and some chrome has either been painted over or removed. Interior is rough. Somerville, NJ:

1958 Station Wagon. One of the rarest postwar Packards with only 159 produced. This one looks very complete and restorable. Body appears straight and rust free. Punta Gorda, FL:

Is it just me, or is that '58 wagon not the ugliest concoction of sheet metal ever assembled?!?!? Try as I might, I cannot come up with any redeeming accolades for this abomnation and have to wonder if they had trouble even selling the 159 made!!! Chris.

Don, yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you find the 'gargoyle with dragon fins' visually appealing, God bless you. It's like the modern art where two large orange dots on white canvas are selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Somebody, somewhere finds beauty and 'art' in it, but it confounds me!

The 1958 Packard Wagon isn't doing to well! It closed without meeting the reserve so was re-posted but up to only $20 as of today.

That poor 1958 Packard. I get the impression that the Studebaker guys have more appreciation for the 1957 and 1958 Packards than most Packard guys. To each their own.

When I went to look at that listing again, I saw that it had been joined by two new Packards, a 1948 and a 1953:

The VIN tag is funky and held on by modern screws so I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole!
