Hello everyone,
Thank you all for the responses to my question. I got very busy with "life stuff" after I posted this question and then in mid December I had a F250 fall on me while I was working under it. Yikes! I am just happy to be alive but I went through a few surgeries and am now just starting PT and moving forward with life. I was excited to see the replies but am still very confused about the VIN issues and all the "ins and outs" of it all. I totally get it though, the car is 74 years old and like many car models there is sometimes not a lot of written information still around. I am very fortunate however that the car came with a clear Washington title and I have already put it in my name and have the clean title now. The car was titled in Nancy Lemay's name which is pretty cool if you know who that is. I will be posting more questions and will join the registry as soon as I have some extra time. I would also love to talk to anyone who knows a lot about the Packards if they would like to share some of what they know. I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting my number but here it is. 253-224-2456
Thanks again,
Art Munson

You're not breaking any rules in posting your telephone number other than exposing yourself to scammers/spammers so be careful! Maybe better to use PM to give out your phone, email or other personal information to anyone who wants to reach out directly.

Sorry to hear about your F250 accident and hope you were not too seriously injured! One of my 1965 Cadillacs nearly fell on me while disconnecting the gas tank for removal but some sixth sense told me to get out from underneath so just missed although the rear bumper nearly parted my hair as it brushed by. It was even on stands but the front tires were too close to the edge of the patio with a drop-off into a planter at the edge and after a while, it rolled forward off the stands.

As for question, we're all here to help and I am currently working on a 1951 too although it's quite a different one than yours, being on the huge 156" wheelbase commercial chassis. However, I've had other 1951s, a couple 1952s, a couple 1953s and even a pair of 1954s which I still have.

Wow! I see why you are "Packard Don"! That's a lot of Packards! Yeah, I should probably be more careful. I sell a lot of items on the internet so I already get tons of spam and scammers so I guess another few hundred wont hurt. Haha.
I am hoping to start working on the Packard in the next few weeks so I will definitely have plenty of questions soon.
Thanks

That's just a few of what I've owned starting with a 1939 Six sedan in the mid-'60s when I was a teenager. I had four or five prewar Packards while still in high school!

Art, are you located in Washington State? I am, and have a few Packards I'm working on. The last round of LeMay Packards that came for sale were really nice and it looks like you picked up a good one.

There are plenty of guys on here that are very knowledgeable on all years. The 51-54 cars are all very similar and not too difficult to work on. Where does the car stand now? What has been done to it? Is it running?
