I highly recommend to discuss any potential modification here before you do it. The easiest way to work on and maintain these cars is the way they were from the factory. If you do something significantly different then you are gonna be on your own if it goes wrong, you know? I see a lot of abandoned modified projects for sale that no one really wants as you don’t know the previous workmanship or goal, or it might not be your own goal. A original or correctly restored car will always have the most value and easiest sale if you want to move onto something different in the future. Just some things to consider.

As far as body sheetmetal goes, unless you find a leprechaun riding a unicorn, everything is going to be a used part off a donor car. NOS sheetmetal has been pretty much hunted to extinction and reproduction Packard sheetmetal doesn't exist.
It's all about finding a better one than what you currently have.
