The Series 62, especially if not the Coupe DeVille trim level, probably had vinyl. It was a base entry-level Cadillac so what was standard on the DeVille was optional on the other. One of my 1965s was a later descendant of the base Series 62, a Calais Coupe that didn’t even have A/C which by then was more or less standard.

Midas Muffler Shops made a lot of money repairing and replacing exhaust systems. Are they even in business anymore? Auto parts stores used to have forests of tailpipes in stock, and the bend 'em to fit shops did well, too. Rambler used to have porcelainized mufflers.

Thank you very much for all the useful responses!

I've been very carefully looking at the available pictures, and I am starting to lean toward thinking that the car might've been re-painted or partially re-painted in the past. The number plate appears to have a bit of over-spray. Similar thing seems to be observable around the rear window went rubber. Moreover, the exhaust has a very custom mount on one side

The leather\vinyl wrinkles also prompted me to take a closer look a the interior. The edges of the white dash, covered by the glove box lid, appear to be somewhat discolorated in comparison to the rest of the dash. Is this just rust or the dash was re-sprayed? I always thought that the inside of the glove box was useful for determining the original color, because it is not exposed to light, etc... Same about the white door panel trim inserts - they are sparkling white, while some of the other parts of the panel appear to be somewhat worn down. Moreover, all of the door handle tops are flawless, while the area right below them has wear... Is this just due to the different material used, or because someone replaced the handle tops?

I'm fairly sure it's been repainted too as the smoothness isn't what Cadillac would have done. It has orange peel all over which is very noticeable at the slight angle used in many photos. Reflections bring it out.

Oh, I see... Did not even pay attention to the orange peel
As nice as this car really is, I suspect that I'll have to pass since I was really looking for the one with original paint. I already have an older-repaint and, given the objectives (to get a more expensive + more original car) it probably makes little sense to exchange the existing known car in very good condition for a new one like this

Of course, I was planning to take a look at it myself. Never-ever bought anything sight-unseen. But it will cost me $500-1000 to travel to it, so I needed to determine whether or not it would be worth the effort in the first place.

I think the paint has been touched-up, at the very least. The undercoat may be hiding issues. I don't think it is original. The front bumper is mis-aligned, being higher on the driver's side than it should be. There are some scuffs and some damaged trim pieces, which can be difficult to replace. Under-car pictures indicate oil leaks. It's probably in good shape for a 70 year old car, but it's not in # 1 condition. A good re-paint and re-chroming would be very expensive, and original upholstery may have issues related to age. If the engine/transmission have not been rebuilt, you can expect seal leakage and perhaps sludge issues. Whether it's a buy or not depends on the PRICE. It might provide a lot of miles of service at a reasonable cost, or not. On a scale of 1 to 5, it looks like a # 3 to me. (My opinion, based on the pics and my considerable experience with old cars. Being a 4 door, it would not have a very high market value, even if restored, compared to a convertible or a high-end model like an El Dorado.
