Also got the steering column back in car.
 Also, I figured out a way to reinstall the oh so tight steering column bracket. A piece of scrap all-thread and a couple of nuts made a great spreader bar to spread the wide enough for me to get it open so it could slide over to column without scratching the paint. Then pull the spreader and replace it with the clamp bolt.  Can you identify what is correct here that most restorations get wrong?

The answer....the steering column color. It should be "dash brown" all way to the steering box.
