Also got the steering column back in car.

Also, I figured out a way to reinstall the oh so tight steering column bracket. A piece of scrap all-thread and a couple of nuts made a great spreader bar to spread the wide enough for me to get it open so it could slide over to column without scratching the paint. Then pull the spreader and replace it with the clamp bolt.

Can you identify what is correct here that most restorations get wrong?

The answer....the steering column color. It should be "dash brown" all way to the steering box.

That's what I was thinking, but I forgot to respond.

Looking great. That green is going to be sweet when the whole car is painted.

Found another dent on the car I didn't notice before. The passenger side rear fender never fit that well. I already pushed in another dent in the wheel several months ago where the it was pulled out around one of the captured nut holes.

But the is raised crease between two more mounting points in the rear quarter. The crease looks like it was supposed to be there, until you compared it the other side.

You can really see it with a straight edge. The good side is flat, this side, not so much.

This is after some manipulation. Still need some finessing, but it mostly level now.

Something must have ripped an old fender off the car at point in the past, or an elephant attempted to get in the rumbleseat, to cause all that outward deformation.

Also... I painted some bits and bobs that needed to be painted body color.

These include the bottom side of the ventilator. The flat carriage style bolts that hold the parking brake lever to the firewall and the hood hooks.

Trying to get items done so I can reassemble the dash and wiring.

Well, at least you found it now! It should definitely be flat. At least it gives you something to do while you’re waiting on the engine!
