Could you post a photo showing the cable and what holes you have? I don't have a complete set of install instructions but the important part is to have some kind of reinforcement under the floor besides only the sheetmetal thickness. The belts should be positioned in as straight a line as possible to where the belt enters the seat frame or goes around the occupant so the pull is direct and no slack or bends will be introduced in the belt that would give and could loosen the belt if a sudden pulling force should occur.
Here is a photo of the factory kit showing the pieces but there does not seem to be any cable included. In addition to the visible brackets on the ends of the belts that go under the carpet but above the floor metal, there there are the square under floor reinforcements with large washers and bolts included. I wonder if a mechanic decided there needed to be extra strength and added a cable. Just a guess as to how that would be attached to provide strength unless it wrapped around something substantial such as the frame or a really heavy piece of floor structure.. ![]()

Photos show belts at back of front seat. Others are of old cable (cut) and over length replacement cable less cable ball ends and heavy under body anchor plates. I am not Shure if a section of the original cable is missing. It has been several years since I removed it. The SP labeled front seat belt buckle ends are restrained by a cable that passes through the rear carpet, next to the drive shaft tunnel. The carpet had been removed before I received the car. Not sure if the cable runs thru the carpet cover that covers the “footrest”, or above it. As always, any comments and phots are deeply appreciated.
