That is the key code for switch and doors and you did luck out finding a code so easily. There should be another code for the trunk and glovebox key but not sure if that one is stamped on the cylinders. Note that with the round key on ignition, Packard seemed to go opposite other mfgs with their key head shapes. Not sure you will still find the oval head blanks for the trunk key but later Packards had an octagonal shape for that one.

Howard,
I picked the lock and removed the tumbler assembly from the switch it was right there in plain sight I feel very lucky to have found it. Now where do I get a key made for it? ![]()

It is a Briggs and Stratton (BASCO) lock and if you have a decent or long time local locksmith shop they should be able to look up the code and make a key. If not you could contact Jesser's Classic Key's and they should be able to make a key for you.

Merritt has Packard-named blanks (at least for later models) but Briggs & Stratton will do. Any good automotive locksmith should be able to make the key from the code and I know my local one does as they’ve made several for me.
