I tried various methods to get the driver’s side vertical trim to hold in place. The rubber is softer and thinner than the original. Finally thought that since I could not change the gasket, I would have to do something to hold the trim in place. A very simple solution is to fabricate a flat square washer/clip with a hole to accommodate a small machine screw that will fit through a small hole drilled through the gasket similar to that shown in the SM.I started replacing the trim on the passenger side and was able to get the trim to hold in place with the help of some adhesive. This was not possible when I got to the final piece on the driver’s side.
