I think I will look for the waterproof cardboard & see what is involved with painting cardboard

If you don't have luck locally you might check with Restoration Specialties as they do list having some painted cowlboard in their printed catalog. It will take a phone call so they can tell you what colors are still available and no idea what the freight would be but typically the sheets have to be cut in order to meet carrier size limits.
