Hi all, does any one have any tricks I should know for repairing my brake lights? My guess is either the switch failed or the contacts are dirty. It is such a monumental pain to get at.All the bulbs were new this spring. When she went back on the road all was fine. Now nothing. The running lights work as well as the turn signals and back up lights. But not the stop lights. I am thinking the switch.??? Also if it is the switch will I need to bleed the brakes after replacement? Brian

Most likely the brake light switch or related and easiest & cheapest to rule out. The filaments are also used for turn signals so bulb & all that wiring is OK--the other remote possibility is the brake light wire goes thru the turn signal switch and on to the bulbs so there is a very slight possibility a problem is there.

I never have bled the brakes when I replace a pressure operated switch, just don't let it sit open for too long. (Common sense comes into play here)
