Mal and Gerd suggested I post a few pics of my engine work for my 57 getting ready to install engine and trans back into chassis. The pics are close to the way it looked when new

Make sure to post a pic when engine is back in and the supercharger has been installed. You'll be at Nigro's cruise in a month.

Al,

I think it's better than new, especially with all the TLC you've poured into it!

Certainly the way to go, a reinvigorated engine which will last for many years. Best of luck with the Stude (er) PACKARD.

Al, man am I envious! Wish my 289 looked that good. Would it be too much to ask if you could post a list of suppliers that you contacted for parts? Thanks, Scott.

In regards to suppliers for parts I try and support more than one supplier having purchase some parts from Sasco which has been taken over by Studebaker International, Also from Studebaker Parts.Com. The Super charger is being rebuilt Fairborn Studebaker. Being retired I have time to check on best price for the parts which are avaiable from more than one source. Some parts from NAPA and from Studebaker swap meets. Plus having been involved with Studebakers since I was born a few parts that my brother and I have collected over the years.
Most of the work on the motor involved cleaning and replacing gaskets and seals. More time and labor including pressure washing and wire brushing to remove all the dirt and crud. Labor was free as was my time.
If you need any details would be glad to send you info

Thanks for the info! My supercharger works but I am missing the connecting hoses. Did you replace these and if so how much were they? I am SO looking forward to driving this car! I'll just bet this little girl really has some get up and go...
