Start by contacting some of the chaps in the Packard Club of Australia. More than likely one or more of them are familiar with the car and can help you. Jim Pearsall in NJ.

Jim,

Thanks for the advice, but the only trouble is the guy after the info is in the US! Where I came into this matter was re-posting his original request from the Chatroom into the Pre-War Forum. Reason being the Chatroom refreshes periodically and any posts there are then lost. Posts in the various Forums however are permanent that's why I did the good samaritan bit! Now that you know this, I'm sure your advice would have been along the lines of contacting the PAC or PI Roster Keepers for that year/model Packard. Or asking for more info from "Cal", the original poster.

All the best from down-under.

Who is he? Tell him to contact me. I have been the First and Second Series roster-keeper for PAC for a number of years and know a fair amount about these cars. Jim P.

Jim,

Looks like you're the man then! All I know is what I posted to start this thread.
And I apparently didn't PM "Cal" like I said I would so I'll do that straight away.

Yes: /thanks for the reply. I am new to this web site also, so am slow.
I have a 1925 7 passenger sedan limousine 243. that was given to my wife by her father (Orin Thorkildsen)about 25 years ago, who had many old Packards. He said that he had purchased it from Mr. Wrigley's chauffeur who inherited it from Mr. Wrigley. We think that we saw a picture of it on the wall of the Wrigley museum out in Phoenix.
It has three different numbers on it so I don't know which is for real.

On inside fire wall = *208273*
On engine block = 101024
P 6085
On frame just to the left of steering colume
* 208397 A *

Many Thanks for you help in tracing it.

G'day Cal,
Now that you've made your first formal post I'd like to formally bid you to PackardInfo.

And a request, could you please include your '25 243 in the Owner Registry here together with a pic, including what you know or suspect of the vehicles history and the acquisition of it?

I sure would if I knew how. I'm not that sharp on the computer, so I just started playing around and wrighting to someone on the Packard web site, and I got you. I read someplace about a Jim Pearsill who has all the old recorads of Packards, I sure would like to get his phone numer. Would you know how I could get his number?
Many Thanks: Cal

It's Jim Pearsall, not Pearsill, and he occasionally visits this site so perhaps he'll see this post and respond. He does NOT have all the factory records, but he has spent many years carefully collecting detailed information on the pre-war Classic Packards and is almost certainly the best resource there is for this type of information.

Jim is a member of both The Packard Club (PAC) and the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) and I'd suggest that you get his address from one of those club's directories and write him a letter with you car's numbers. If you're not a member of either of these clubs, send me a PM and I'll provide his mailing address.

Cal,
for including your '25 243 in the Owner Registry, a handsome looking car!

However there are two minor problems, both of which are easily fixable. First, there are two entries but Big Kev, our Webmaster, can delete one for you. I suggest this entry because it doesn't include a pic and the other entry does -packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/registry/View.php?ID=516

Second, they are both in the 1956 section, so could you please edit the second entry by changing the year to 1925?
