I turned 50 on 9/20 this year.
Have had my Studebelle (1962 Lark 4 door sedan) for a couple of years and she's lovely. Did 120 Miles last weekend like she was a new car.

I am 64 years old and feel an arthritic-seventeen while working on my 41 Clipper. I got the car as an older restoration in Sept 2007. It had not been driven for 20 years. I developed 'Packard-elbow' after 4 months of physical straining doing repairs. (My doctor mistakenly called the condition 'tennis elbow').
I got 'Clipper Jack' back on the road in 2008 and have driven him over 5000 miles (with 2 tow-backs of 35 miles and 175 miles). I've been to Branson and Des Moines for PAC Nat'l Meets in 2008 and 2009. I am a member of MN Packard Club, (but most of their events are 250-300 miles one-way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota). Drivers that I have kept rollin' include: 1941 Packard Clipper -'first of the Clippers' 1939 LaSalle Sedan, model 50, (5019) - Purchased June 2009 locally. Unrestored beautiful survivor with 120,000 miles. College years- drove a 1951 Chevy for 3 years (and learned repairs and maintenance.) [It had a 1800 mile continuous-flow-oil-changing-system -- It leaked one qt every 300 miles, cycling 6 quarts in 1800 miles.) Dan Leininger

I was born in 1955 so now am 54. My parents owned a 1953 Packard Clipper touring sedan from 1953 that they bought brand new and sold it in 1962. Therefore a Packard brought me home from the hospital as a baby and was the first family car I knew. When I was 18 in 1973 I bought my first car, a 1953 Packard Clipper Deluxe touring sedan, which I kept until 1989.
My current cars are: 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited 4 door sedan 1953 Packard Clipper Deluxe touring sedan (bought in 2008) Other cars I have owned: 1975 Chevy Vega Notchback Sedan (only one I bought new--with the infamous 4 cyl. aluminum engine.) 1975 Pontiac Ventura 2 door coupe (straight 6) 1984 Mazda 2000 SE-5 extended bed pickup truck (4 cyl.) 1988 Ford Ranger extended cab pickup truck ( 4 cyl.) 1984 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 4 door sedan (with the infamous HT4100 aluminum V-8 engine) Both Packards apparently went over 100K miles before my ownership. All other cars I have ever owned have gone over 100K miles with the original engine during my ownership, including the Chevy Vega and the HT4100 powered Cadillac Sedan Deville. I change my own oil and oil filter about every 3,000 miles and maintain my cars pretty good. Ken

I was born in 1943, and passed 71 in March.
My current cars: 1940 Packard 110 Business Coupe 1948 Packard Super Touring Sedan 2000 Chevrolet Tracker 2006 Cadillac SRX 2012 Dodge Ram 1947 Farmall Cub (Yard Decoration) 2003 Kubota (For Pushing Snow) Previous Cars: 1950 Packard 2 Door 1958 Triumph TR3 1955 Packard 1955 Clipper 1953 Singer 1964 Chevrolet Impala Convertible (First New Car) There have been others over the years, but these are the ones it would be fun to have again. Traded dad's 1950 Packard on the Triumph, didn't have it long before finding a girl I liked better, but she keeps me around and doesn't protest my toys too much. Jim

I'm 61 years here on Earth, and my '47 Clipper 6 cylinder (just turned 33,333 original miles today) is my third Packard, but the other two 1953 Packards were projects (approx. 4 years ago) that never made it out of my driveway.
I had hoped to combine the good body from one '53 with the engine & tranny from the other, but my Wife ran out of patience. In interest of keeping the Wife happy with the vintage car habit, we sold the two '53s, and coincidently, during that time period, found a little ol' lady/barn-stored, neighborhood 1947 Clipper that was closer to roadworthy, so here I am. As a teenager, I have owned two other cars with flathead 6 cylinder engines with 3 speed on the column - a rebuilt 1950 Chevrolet, and my Grandmothers '50 Plymouth Special Deluxe, so I am happy with the vintage, low HP engine & manual shifting. I have some menacing health reports due to Advanced Stage 4 Prostate Cancer that have me appreciating every day, so I particularly enjoy every time I can take my '47 aka "Big Daddy" out for a spin. My Best to You, Dave Blandford
