The 21st through 23rd series cars use the WDO carter with different jetting depending on which engine they were on. Also, the above information about heat shields is correct.
Don't worry about the sediment bowl being close to the manifold. The heat shield doesn't extend far enough to make a difference. The most likely problem is for the fuel in the fuel line to be vaporized. Originally cars earlier used a wrap on the line. I have wrapped mine with air conditioning insulation. I have not had any trouble since.
