Looks like time has finally caught up with the old East Grand Blvd. plant. After last week's 60 degree weather, we had very strong winds last Wednesday. Those winds caused some of the facade of the bridge over East Grand Blvd. to come crashing down.

That is too bad. I finally saw the plant last summer, and took some pictures. However, I couldn't get up the nerve to exit the car and look around inside. Especially with scary looking characters walking around nearby. I had hoped it would somehow be restored, but it just looks too huge and in too bad of shape for anyone to want to tackle. Plus the location doesn't help.

I think it would be cool to have a brick or 2 from the building!

Go over there, drive real slowly, and you just may get your wish. One or two may find their way through your window!

You probably won't get one through the window. That would require the locals to actually do some work lifting and throwing instead of just standing around. I took my Packard down there for photos last summer and escaped unscathed. However I don't tempt fate too often in Detroit.

Early Sunday mornings are a safe bet. Anyone you would be worrying about is sleeping it off.

There are hundreds of such "cathederals" here in Detroit. If it wern't for these places, the local citizens would be not as spirital as they are. The mayor of Detroit even broadcasts his annual personal adultry apoligies from one of these places.
