identify 1926 packard

I have a 1926 packard 4 door, 126 wb. the registration is #102052, the body plate is 102221, frame #10216, steering box #p6312, trans #102752, the back seat tag is 283-2650. I would like to know if I have a 426 or what??????

If it was a 1926, then it would be a 236 (2nd Series) or 326 (3rd Series). Do you have the engine number?

A 426 would be a 1927 Six Cylinder model.

The early series are pretty odd as they overlapped each other. Hopefully this chart can help to illustrate what I am talking about:

the motor # is the registration #102052. the vech # is the # on the fire wall plat #102221 what about the body # 283-2650????????????????/

also the packard book motor and vechicle number book says 426-433 = U95007 to U125012. my no is 102052, or 102221???? very confusing...............

You engine is for sure a 1927 426-433 Six Engine.

I would have expected the '283' to be a body number. But that doesn't match with any records I have as a valid body number for any year. But something in the back of my mind says that those early models may have had a different schema as far as that is concerned.

Is your car a 1927 model that was perhaps first registered in 1926? Or perhaps the engine has been replaced at some point with one from a '27.

Do you have any pictures of the car?
