Not my cup either and while it does look as if a lot was spent, just about all the "Packard" is gone. This one appears to take styling cues from just about everything from the early 50's. The one Old Gold started was much more appealing.

The only thing that appealed to me was the convertible part.

Me too!!..... My first ride in a convertible was in a 1951 Packard...sometime in the early 60's when I was 7-8-9 years old...

Doesn't even look like a Packard anymore.

Atleast it was done with good quality of workmanship. It doesn't look like a hack job.
The front is vintage Barris '50s California custom work. The Continental style trunk lid is kind of neat. I like seeing Packards that are tastefully modded. Like every other Packard, this one will probably be the only one at some shows.

My feelings on the whole Rod and custom thing are pretty well known. I just don't like them painting parts like bumpers and grilles body color. To me that is bringing the car down to the standards of today's nerf-mobiles. Chrome trim is what made cars stand out back then. the chrome bumpers "frame" the body of the car, the chrome grille makes a statement. At least it doesn't have a small block Chevy, like the rest of them.

Nope. Not liking this one. I'm seeing way too much "blacked-out" or painted out chrome anymore.

Totally agree...the massive chrome grill is what made me want to get my car in the first place!
