Cool.
Last night I was driving to the market in my little Toyota and this street rod running a big block and a 6-71 GMC blower pulled up behind me...it shook my rear view mirror so hard it acually fell off the widshield!! LOL. Gotta love that.

G'day Sean,
to PackardInfo. About this time I usually go into my spiel requesting you add your Packard to Packard Owner's Registry but in this instance another tack needs to be taken. Instead, spurred by your last post I'd request you to include any pic's or scans of Packard advertisements in the Packard Photo Archive which has a specific category for these items. Or, if you have original Packard literature, you could consider donating a scanned copy to the Packard Literature and Manuals section of the Site.

Now you've started... When I was in Warren last summer, someone, maybe Terry Martin, told me this about Ward Packard. J.W. Packard is always called 'Ward" in Warren. After Packard moved to Detroit, bicycles had become passe. Ward took to tooling around on motorcycles. You've seen pictures of him, he was 5 feet tall, maybe 5'1". (Owen or somebody will do the metric conversion for you). He was short... He wrote Harley Davidson (NO REALATION to me!) and asked if they would custom make a motorcycle with a smaller frame. Harley Davidson (NO RELATION!), obviously oblivious to Ward's dissatisfaction with other vehicle manufacturers, told him no. The British, on the other hand, were only to happy to tailor make a bike for him, so he rode British bikes for the rest of his life. I seem to remember that they were Brough Superiors, but I'm hazy on that part Regards John Harley

What a great welcome you guys!
BTW, I was born in Detroit, so gasoline is in my veins! When I say a ton of Packard stuff, I just mean that my Dad has collected comics, books, pulp magazines and stuff like that his whole life...and he's retired now and looking through all of it. He was cleaning up some stuff and I found all these old magazines from the 1920/30's and in them I found a bunch of Packard advertisements. They are so cool. I framed one and put it up today, it looks sweet. There were all the other cars in there too but I won't mention them!! LOL!! Loved the PS of the bike in the field...you are da man!

Thanks. I enjoy you contributions too. I may be more fond of European cars than some others on this site. I leaned to shift on a Fiat and the first two cars I owned were DS Citroens. I desperately want a Tatra, but since I don't buy lottery tickets its not going to happen By the way , what time IS IT where you are now? It's 8PM here Regards John Harley
