This may be a silly question but... When did Packard stop using wood framing in there bodies? Excluding the station wagon.

I believe it started in '38 when the junior cars, Sixes and Eights, had all steel bodies. The senior cars were a year or two later. In case I've got it wrong, I'm sure there'll be someone along soon to put matters right.

And a request, if you have a Packard, could you please include it in the Packard Owner's Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

Mal's on target. I think I have this right, the Twelve thru 1939 still was largely wood-framed, as was the Super Eight thru 1938. But most juniors from the get-go, with the exception of the woodies of course and the convertible coupe, had a minimal wood content but no where's near the extent of the seniors.

... and Darrins were wood through 1940.

Do Henneys count? The top of the line 1941 Henney Model 4198 Landaulet was wood framed.

The first two pic's, to me at least, come up as black boxes. No, not the boxes used in aeroplanes to record data and cockpit voice conversations. Found out by left clicking on them they open to show real pic's with a Henny Packard in them!

Copied the "black pics" into photoshop. Did nothing to them, but saved them under the same name and presto! Now they appear.

What to do with that 4198! Can't bear to part it out, way too rare. So it just patiently waits for something to happen...
