Hey I'm new to the forum and the Packard community. My dad and I just picked up a 1954 Packard Cavalier yesterday. I figured since I need some help that getting to know the members of this forum would be a good idea. I hope to post some pictures of it so you can give me any advice that you have. The only things that I do know as of right now is that it needs a new fuel pump and thermostat housing. Hope you guys can help and I'll try my best to get those pictures up soon.

Welcome to the Website! Please add you Cavalier to the Owner's Registry.

You can buy a Fuel Pump rebuild kit fromthen-now.com

There is also an article here I wrote on rebuilding the pump on my '54 Clipper. It should be exactly the same process for your Cavalier.

I can't remember which one, but one of the PI chapters sells a solid brass reproduction water neck (thermostat housing) that will last a life time. It is far superior to the stock one. I will try to find that information for you.

It's the Packard International Southern Calif chapter that sells the new waternecks.

Here is the link to their website catalog page:

Thanks for the info. It will be a big help. Now if I can just figure out how to order it, I will be set. I can't seem to find an add to cart feature or a phone number to call. Some help would be appreciated...sorry.
