What do you all do to get ready for a snow or ice event in your area? I have plenty of gas available for our generator if and when we lose power. Our propane tank is full (for the heater in our Packard garage too) and I salted the drive. Wife is making chili...

I just make sure there's plenty of wine, smoke and other refreshments on hand. I quit burning wood a few years ago so don't have that to worry about. Use coal oil lamps when the electric goes out. Ex GF usualy shows up after 2 days of power outage because she can't stand staying with her in-laws but always brings plenty of food with her from there. So i don;t have to worry about food for more than 2 days or so. Studded snow tires on the 88 Ranger and that thing will go thru any kind of snow or ice and has done so many times.

I don;t know, basically i just don't worry about it. I've been thru several winter storms, one that lasted over 2 weeks back in '94. Only missed 2 days of work during that period too. No big dealeo to me.

Well, all of our area schools are closed today (probably tomorrow too). It looks like we'll be making up some days in June. I think I'll move some snow and do some tinkering in the "Packard garage." I'm SO glad we insulated and heated the space! The only problem with it is that we try to store too much stuff in there for the winter along with the cars leaving little space to get around. It's a little hard to tune a car with all those flower pots and lawn furniture!

Snow, Sleet, and Ice.

What a pain, and super bowl week as well. Last week we had 70 degrees, now we won't be above freezing until friday.

Terrible lake effect going on in NEohio too, south more it's all ice, but here it's snow AND ice...20 minutes cleaning the car off, was about to take an angle grinder to the windshield.

Not sure where Cortland is in NE O. But i used to hang around Seneca Lake, Senecaville, Buffalo, Derwent, Old Warshington ( i think there's "r" in Old Warshington) and the Cambridge area of mid-eastern Ohio back in the 70's and 80's.
