you could be right on 23rd series - my comparison is for 22nd. I should of said that. The door trim panels, chrome inserts in the window trim differ too. I've seen several original 22nd series cars and the 3-tone houndstooth is on the Eight.

Paulg3, you have the same color and same pattern, or just the same pattern. Thanks for all the compliments, too, everybody! I had not known that the Standard Eight didn't have the center armrest, or trip odometer, or cigar lighter, or lap rope on the back of the front seat. You learn something new everyday, eh?

Paul,
On the wood-grained trim around the door (mine is now solid) there is also a chrome design on yours. Mine just has the same design "stamped" into the metal. I'm having it painted by a pinstriped a cream color to match the rest of my interior. The chrome does look great though.

Cort,
I was able to look at my interior today........Yes, I got my car back!!! Seems good, I had to drive over the Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi, Texas in rush hour!!! She took it like a speed bump! The seats are herringbone, arm rest in back seat middle, robe cord, lighters front and rear, chrome ridged thingys on each end of window trim with a chrome strip in between. There is also wood grain on the back of the front seat. The steering wheel is cream colored with chrome plates on top of the arms. Remarkably the woodgrain is in wonderful shape, only a little worn on the drivers side door. How is your baby coming along?? I hope that all is well!! Paul

Congratulations on finally getting yours back. Did the mechanic say what the cause of the delay turned out to be?

Yes, he something about a steel ball that popped out of the valve body assembly. He said that there was a spring that held it, I can't remember what he called it, I am going to ask again so I can post it. Howard, did I say I love my car!!

I was able to go for a drive this afternoon and took a few pics of the car. Cort, here are door panels and dash in my '50. I am really enjoying the car!
