Agree with Randy, and I certainly wouldn't have bet money it hadn't been some kind of undocumented option. Packard did seem a bit lax sometimes in that respect. I guess if a dealer could make it fit, it was also fair game...IMHO, the dash light was more practical anyway--at least you didn't have to become a contortionist to try to get something down low enough to get light on the subject with a 47.

I should be ore embarrassed than others. I am writing a book on the bathtub Packards. I currently have over 200 pages with pictures.
