Packardprince: I a have friend in the mid 1990's that had a ground up restoration done on a 1933 Packard V12 Dietrich Convertible Sedan. Which is now retired from judging because of several 100 point finishes in CCAA shows. The fellow stopped keeping track how much money he invested in the Packard, when the money figure reached $250,000. So the figure that you stated of $140,000 being spent on the 53 Clipper doesn't impress me at all.

What my friend has and the money he invested in his 33 Packard, I consider to be work of automotive classic art preserved. What your and the owner of the 53 Clipper has is nothing more than a car that is Packard that has been butched up and made into a common street rod. Street rods are a dime a dozen, no matter how much money is invested in them.

Packardprince: I will race my 66 Chevelle 230 six cylinder powered car against your budies 54 Packard Derham. That is providing the Derham is powered by an unmodified 359 cid Packard engine and comes with the stock ultramatic.

Thank you I will take that as a compliment. Like fine wine, single malt whiskey,refined women and a Puccini opera you are probably too young to appreciate a '47 Clipper but someday if you keep working at it and eat your broccoli you will.

My Packard against your Chevy? Oh my Gosh who is crossing the Fence now Plow Boy. By the Way the Derham is a 53 with a 327 with only 13000 virgin miles. Don't know if it is a 9 main or five main. I was not going to pop that cherry and see what was under the under pan.....
