Does it look like it could be the lower seat shield item 30.93818 in this picture? If so, then a wrong part number. If not, no idea as there are only a couple of 638xxxx parts listed.

The emblem is for the front grill on all 52 and 54 cars. If you could post a picture of the light. Lots of variables on that one. Kind of sounds like a license lamp except for the clear lens.

Guide B-50 is a 40's pre/post war GM backup light used on all GM makes. It might have a littel chrome foot on it used to mount it.

REVISION

Seems Guide used that number on several lights, see Packard photo below

CALLING ALL PARTS SLEUTHS

The inner fender spasher above for 55 and 56 are diferent, understandable as the fenders are diferent. But 55 and 56 Convertibles ONLY have their own part number. I think this is the first time I'm completely stumped as to why?? As far as I know, in front of the cowl the senior cars are the same.

I will look for the blueprint today.

Signed,
Clueless in Boonton

Looked, no blueprint on file

Fred,

Don't know if this is the reason, but convertibles have a welded bolt for the fender brace in the wheel well. That is how I was told you could spot if a fender was replaced.

It's a backup lamp. That one is of the style used from 51 to some 54 models BUT while the glass lens was the same thruout, the chrome base may have differed slightly depending on year & where it was to be mounted. There are 3 different lamp assy numbers given for the various kits and is one of a pair. I would think it will be kind of hard to identify or sell as a single unless someone can compare with one they have.

EDIT: It may be an optical illusion but it looks as if the chrome is raised or deeper on either side of the studs. If so, that would place it as a 53 senior style #439158 which mounted under the tail lights. If that is incorrect and chrome is relatively equal all around, then is one of the kit styles for years that mounted below trunk lid.
