louvres on a 52 200

hello again.
still looking 2 buy the 52 packard. will go pick up on tues.
the # is 2562 16140. so i understand that is a 52 200
but this car has 4 louvres. is it correct to assume that was an extra option the buyer purchased? or maybe added later.?
i am so excited about this car. i will let u all know after tuesday.

The louvers are a bit of bling that were relatively inexpensive at the time. Dealer item, they could have been added by the dealer to sell the car or owner to dress it up. Depending on model, Packard used none or 3 or 4 but they were inexpensive enough that many cars that had none originally wore them proudly and cars originally with 3 might have grown another. I believe there is a picture of one car sporting 5.

Very nicely done. Maybe that is how the picture of the car having 5 was accomplished. What are the chances of that picture or a similar one showing up in a future book and some author(ity) saying Packard would do anything to please customers and sell cars -- taking note of the side full of chrome louvers.
