Steering box seals?

So, the steering box on my 115c has been leaking over the course of the cars history. I'm not familiar with the terminology of the car, but it is leaking from the lower end of the worm gear on the steering column.

How do I go about fixing this? Is it a really tough rebuild, and I should just put some new gear oil in it and wipe it off occasionally, or should I tear into it?

Thanks for any info?

Its a less than $5 seal, available from NAPA or any good seal provider. I'm sorry I cannot advise the interchange, I am out of town, away from my cheat sheet. but fear not about pulling it out. DAF

I have just renewed my seals on my 1939 120 last week, mine was leaking just from the bottom but i renewed both.
to make the job easy i took out the whole steering box and striped it down as to get to the seals, i took out both seals and then went to a gearbox repair shop and bought one top seal, on i went to a bearing shop and found the bottom seal i then went back home after about two hours the job was done. You will find that the seals that you take out are mettle one's, take them as a sample. the one's you will buy will be rubber.put some rubber grease around the seal rim - this will make things easy, also pack the seal, this will make the seal-seal.
then get hold of a socket the same diameter as the seal and hammer it home.
Bill.

Rebuilding my 39 model Six steering box. Any chance you have the PN's for seals and bearings?

Thanks

John
