I am getting new door sills for my club sedan.
I have a choice of getting them with or without black paint in the lower parts of the pattern. Could someone please tell me, is one of these correct for a standard 8 or were both types used on 733's ?

I believe they do not get silk screening (I think that came later), but if you are restoring your car and buying any materials from Bill Hirsch ask him what the sills look like on his 745.

I any event I would check with several sources because variation in Packards is common.

My 733 came with an all original (documented) interior. The sills do have black in the tread area. I have pictures someplace, but cannot currently find them. I will post when I do, and if I remember when I do!

I'm leaning toward going with the etched sill with black paint around the word "Packard". That would be approximately a 1" X 3" area in the middle of the sill.
