I had J.C. Taylor for about 30 years, and Haggerty for about 20. Switched only because Haggerty was a bit cheaper for the same coverage. Never a problem of any kind, but then again never a claim either. Both are very reputable as are the other majors, I suppose. I have friends that have had one or the other, two had claims, one of them quite major, and no problems either. Just make sure you understand the terms and limitations, and have an "agreed to" replacement value.

I presently have 2 classics ('57 Chev Bel Air; '72 Vette) insured thru Hagerty. Great people to work with, very reasonable rates, never a problem.

I have had two claims with Hagerty and they were both taken care of. One claim a shop damaged the roof light on my Clipper taxi and They are next to impossible to find and expensive. I asked how long they would give me to locate the correct light and the Hagerty agent told me that the claim would remain open until my car was repaired to my satisfaction. The second claim happened while my Packard was in storage. One of my wall decorations (Packard 48-50 grille) fell off the wall and damaged the rear fender. Hagerty said to send them some pictures of the damage with a estimate for the repairs. They sent a check for the total bill. I am sure there are other companies that give good service, but I am going to stay with Hagerty. My rates have remained the same after the claims. Happy shopping.

Is Hagerty the company that will help you locate hard to find replacement parts for your repair? I saw a car show on TV and the speaker said that his job was to help the owner find repair parts.

I have the 400 insured with American Collectors as do several of my friends. Have never heard a complaint about them. As stated before, make sure you have the "agreed upon" value clause written in the policy.

If you are ex military or have relatives that are, you might want to consider the antique vehicle insurance company connected to USAA. I have six cars insured by them and they only charge me one liability for all the cars and then collision and comprehensive on each of the cars. Saves a ton on money!!!

USAA is the best insurance company in the USA, if not the world according to my BIL who worked for 30 yrs in the stolen vehicle recovery and auction biz. My 55 Pat is insured as a regular vehicle with USAA because I drive it regularly, not as a collector car usually stored. Still not expensive and I've never had a problem with a claim since 1966. I have had haggerty for about 6 years and they helped with finding parts for my 38 plymouth and worked with my hot rod body shop to make it look like it never happened. i like em but i belive you have to have you regular car insured with allstate for them to take you , not sure but that is what i understood years ago.
