Today I was on a mission, a mission to open at least one of those back doors. I un-bolted the hinges to the passenger rear door, gave a few precisely placed kicks, and POW! The door finally gave after a year of trying, on and off that is. The latch mechanism is shot though. The teeth on it are almost completely missing.
Also, I got some photos of the items that were generously donated to me from HotRod. I still owe you by the way! The seats, fender skirts, and gas door bling, all look great on this car. JW,
I was not aware of that one. Gonna have to look up where Smithville is. I may or may not be able to make it, due to the condition the car is in as of now. I will have to make a trip to John's Salvage to get the latch mechanism for the rear door. And, I have to try to get these brakes bled, which has been a nightmare. So there is a chance I could make it, but I'm leaning towards doubtful. Is there usually a big showing at Smithville?

You know what, I think you are right, disregard that. Man, they look so much alike. I think Packard should sue! lol
I figured it said "Mercury", because it was parked outside Mercury Charlie's shop. ooops.

That same door was stuck on mine as well, and a swift kick from the inside while holding the holding the door handle was also required to open it.
Mine just had 20+ years of dirt cemented in to the door jam.
