I believe all work the same from 51 on and maybe earlier. Think details are as I show in this picture -- the single is just a larger version of this HT quarter side area model. If others can confirm that, then here are pictures of the assy. The bezel and glass assembly is held by some small bumps in the housing which mate with some slots and openings on the bezel. It just pulls off but may be a bit snug.

That's exactly how mine on my '52 works. It should just pull out.

Thanks guys.
The picture is the same as what is in my car. I hate to break stuff. Glad to see a bayonet base bulb in your pic. Jim

A picture is worth a thousand words.
The cover snapped right off with no problem. The lens is real glass, I was surprised. The problem turned out to be poor connection at the bulb although the bulb needs a renew. The bulb is a #210. I wonder how much longer 6 volt automotive bulbs will remain available. I restore antique radios and TV's and we are using up "Old Stock" tubes and some types are getting scarce. Popular audio tubes are now made in China and Russia. I use incandescent lighting on a TV tower and some Chinese bulbs with the Mogul base won't fit the sockets. Jim

It would be a shame if they stopped producing 6v bulbs. I really don't feel like converting over to 12v.

A lot of agricultural equipment is still 6v. So replacements are still being made. All of the local auto parts store chains near me still carry a full assortment of 6v bulbs still.

Those with older 6-volt cars may want to print off a copy of the enclosed. Though other bulbs came along later, noteably the dual-filament types that came along with the advent of direction signals, most of these #s are still active and easily available at parts stores with the exception of the triple-filament 3001/3003 bulbs which were recently repro'd on a PAC region (prior to that, $250 or more even for a used bulb wasn't unheard of).
