Good luck, and I mean that most sincerely. Just morning a couple of buddies and I were discussing this car over breakfast and we couldn't find consensus on the amount of $$$ it would take to make that Caribbean a number one car again. I bailed out of the argument at 200K.

I've seen several 55/56 Caribbeans which were restored from reasonably decent and roadworthy cars and it's easy to sink $100K into such a restoration. $200K to do that one, unless labor is free, seems improbable if you're aiming for a true high-point car.

Even if you do the labor yourself...it still can be expensive!

Should make some lucky person, with more money than brains, a very nice tax shelter.

Judging from the obvious damage, it looks like something very heavy, maybe part of the barn itself, fell on that car. Hard enough to spring the passenger door. It's parts, and probably not many of them... except for someone who just wants to prove something. Worse wrecks have been "re-built" but only using the car as a basic pattern, with one or two parts of the original still on the final project.

i seen tha t carribean on ebay it was back off till i got around to it ,i was interested in rebuilding it,,does anyone know who bought it
