I don't have a quick answer, but is it any more complicated that measuring the shaft and bore diameters and the seal thickness and just consulting a seal catalog to find a dimensional equivalent? Plenty of seal catalogs that can index by dimension on the internet, and I've got some old hardcopy ones if I can help you with those.

Are the seals the same for 55 and 56?

Mike, 55 rear axles are Packard-built; 56 axles are Dana. Entirely different.
