Long term storage:

1. How much does it weigh?
2. How long do you want to store it?
3. Recommendation A: store it laying flat in a single wall box with runners under the box to help you and your son-in-law to lift it.
4. Where are you going to store it? Indoors of course
5. You will need box, rust preventative spray (multiple coats) for all machined surfaces, including through holes and drill and tapped holes. You will need water proof paper to wrap head before placing in box. Wood will wick moisture to machined surface.

Alternative 1. Call an export packing company (i.e Crate Masters in Katy/Fort Worth) and find out how much they would charge you to perform this service.

Note: when you need to use the head, you will need a solvent to remove the the wax-like rust preventative. DO NOT USE A GRINDING WHEEL TO REMOVE DRIED RUST PREVENTATIVE EVER.

Here is a typical long term storage fluid you should apply to all machined surfaces in 2-3 coats, each coat applied after previous coat is dry. Amsoil can help you with this product.
