Let me first take an inventory and test the individual filaments. I'll try to accomplish over the weekend.

I have two Mazda 3003 bulbs available. One has been in the car's Bulb Kit since I bought it in 1963 and may be unused but the safe assumption would be that both bulbs are used. I've checked them, all filaments are functional. Offered at approximately my cost, $175 each or $325 for the pair, shipping included.

I'm just curious, how are these bulbs wired internally? Do the 3 filaments each have one end connected to one terminal then have the other end all connected in common to the case? It's a bit hard to see in the picture.

Also I see that it's an "S-12" style but does anyone know the dimensions of that? Can't find any info online.

Yes, each filament is activated independently. This bulb and the similar Mazda 3001 are unique to the 1933/34 Packard and Cadillac/LaSalle. The owner's manual indicates which filaments are active at which headlight switch positions, the sequence left and right are different.

Exactly what dimensions are you looking for?

Here is the wire diagram showing the 3 filaments and how they are grounded.

One of the greatest resources on light bulbs disappeared when the owner of Don's Bulbs retired 3 or 4 years ago. His website database was one of the best -- just type in a bulb number and all the specifications including base and layout, dimensions and a wiring diagram was instantly available. A list of bulbs that might be substituted was also shown. If you didn't know a bulb number entering the voltage and any other info you knew such as number of pins, candlepower, base, etc and a list of all bulbs that met the listed criteria popped up.

Parts of his site are in the web archive but unfortunately none of the search functions work on the archive. Not sure if he sold his inventory to anyone as when he closed, his site had a statement that final disposition on inventory had not been determined. At any rate it doesn't look like anyone took over the site and database portion but if anyone knows of anything similar please share the info. Another loss almost as sad as the info that was lost when Craig's Panther site went dark.

Howard and Owen, thanks for the info. Was looking a bit on Don's site on the archive but didn't run into what I needed.

Mainly just wondering what are the diameter and height of the base.
