I painted mine exactly as HH56 mentioned. I masked off the cap leaving only the ring around the hexagon and sprayed the entire ring, words and all then carefully wiped off the partly dried paint on the letters using q-tips or a small rag dipped in lacquer thinner. You have to be very careful and not use much thinner or it will cause the paint to run if it drips. I recall that I hasd a few failures along the way but eventually mastered the technique at least to somewhat my less than profession standards.
