You should be able to get the wheel cylinder from NAPA. Rear shocks also.

Tranny problema!

i cracked open the floor of my vehicle to add oil.... and there's no plug ...
so im guessing this would prevent any pressure from building up in there...
hence the no shifting

anybody knows where i might find one of them>? part # etc?

i read the Ultramaitc drive manual... and dont think the pressure test is gunna work without a seal.
couldnt find any part #'z in there

Not sure which plug you are referring to but the case is vented to ensure pressure does not build up inside. Only thing accessible from inside car is the vent itself which can be a convenient (but slow) place to add fluid and may be the plug you mention.

It is on top of case and by removing the small plate located in center top of tunnel when seat is back and carpet pulled away. It is a fitting that screws into case and originally had a loosely crimped on dirt cap and mesh. If used for filling, sometimes the cap was loosened too much and then fell off just leaving the mesh which could be lifted out and fluid poured in so the fitting didn't have to be unscrewed.

The proper fill location and dipstick is from underneath and requires a pump type filler. On drivers side of trans almost by the accelerator just behind torque converter housing at the case junction is a small twist off cap with dipstick.

Packy posse!

been rollin the Sunset Strip in the 51
LO gear only, so 18 mph top speed... thats fine for Sunset.

Toby rolled thru today, a.k.a.Boner....
we tossed 2 quarts trannny fluid into the case vent ....
and went bombin around the hills

HIGH "kind of"engaged after the refill, it almost engaged.... weakly hinted at maybe being in gear.

i suppose it might be time to replace the clutch plates ?
i imagine the original cork plates are not holdin up....

dioes this require engine removal? i read the ultramatic manual, and understood very little. i cant read good. my cross to bear

I think the usual thing is to put the car on a hoist and disconnect the gearbox from the engine, remove gearbox, repair, then reinstall. Often, folks will remove an engine/gearbox as a unit if working on both, you likely won't have to.

The experts will be along later to correct anything I said that's wrong.

Best wishes with your car.

got some good news from the kool kojak 51 Packard road readying projecto

electric has been up to speed for about a week, been takin short range sushi cruises, and an occasional romp around Hollywood , all in LO gear, top speed 18 mph

which is suitable

today I drove the Packard about 20 blocks deep into Hollywood to scoop Ammo (and chat with an old timer about Packard's luxury pedigree) to Henson Studios home of the Muppets .

Tony , Richies uncle nephew, stopped by to say hi and he had 2 giant bottles of transmission fluid !!!

and we cruised out to the parking lot .... underneath Kermit's butt, and filled up thru the vent .

AND THEN I SHIFTED INTO HI GEAR AND THE FRIGGIN CAR STARTED DRIVIN!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAA

i need shocks pretty bad
and new white walls

ON TO POMONAAAAAAAAA
