I recall another connection with baseball and Packards. Billy Martin was the world series MVP in 1953. I recall seeing a news reel where he received the award and a brand new Packard. I wonder what happened to that car?

Good question... he lived around here - Binghamton NY area. The car's connection to celebrity may have insured its survival.

The U.S. boys put up one hell of a fight and I thought that they would win at one stage.
Now let's bring on the Germans I reckon 2-1 to us.

I'm sorry Gerd, but we won't meet in this final. We will have to face the boys from "Manuel Glez". Too bad the Dutch guys won't have to play against the Germans, our neighbors.

By the way, strange guys, those Spanish people.

Looks like the running of Bulls (which was also today BTW) didn't go so well for the home team Gerd. Best of luck to the Dutch in the finals.
