Don, anything I can do to help, just give me a yell. As for the engine stand, I bought a 1000lb 4 wheeled engine stand from Orielly's, A/C Delco brand that held a Packard V8 just fine, but wouldn't touch a straight eight. I had an old 1000lb three leg engine stand that holds a straight eight just fine, but I don't like the 3 leg idea. When I get ready to build my 327, I'm going to modify my 3 leg stand to better support and rotate a straight eight. It will be specifically designed with a straight eight in mind. 40"+ hanging out on an engine stand is a dangerous proposition!
