I made a mat out of carpet runner from out local hardware store. Dimensions are the same as you provided. I had some extra binding from when I made my carpet set, so I did the mat as well to spiff it up and make it look like it belonged in a Packard.

I rebuilt the foot rests out of my Patrician parts car for my Cavalier. I don't think Cavaliers came with, not sure they were even an option.

I reused the wood and rubber pad, but replaced the binding, cotton and carpet. A fun little project that if I didn't do myself would have never happened. I could never justify paying someone to do it for me, which is true for almost all the projects on my car. Not to mention I like working on my car!

Making my floor mats the same size as factory was a good idea as they are the perfect size when the foot rests are in.
