Now I understand, we call them 'wheel rim embellishers'. I've got lots of them in storage, but not sure of the wheel sizes, they might be just 15' and not Packard 120 size.
What are the semi-circular chrome strips on the horizontal outside of the spare wheel covers called? I will need the USA description if I'm ever going to find any. Thanks.

Thanks Flack master. I'm not sure if this is the same manifold as on mine; it looks so different and mine has no evidence of the disc with a lever in the centre. What function would that have; one assumes it is for manually diverting exhaust heat to the inlet manifold? Also of concern as to the right model, is the photo of the choke heater coil metal insert provided by another member. This looks just like the rusted out one on my manifold and does not have any aperture to facilitate linking the lever on yours, to a gas flow gate below?
At the moment it seems to me that a replacement steel insert is the answer; am I wrong?
Thanks.

The picture from Flackmaster is the same manifold. What you are seeing is the choke coil installed in the choke heat chamber.

Call or write to them. Most dealers do not maintain their sites and even if they did they couldn’t possibly list everything they have.

Finally seem to have got the correct description for rusted out part and will order from Max Merritt, but before I do the 'beauty rings' you mentioned. Do they fit around the vertical sides of the spare wheel covers and where can I buy them as the MM site shows no reference to them? Thanks. Chris

On the MM site, you can get to their on-line catalog. In your case, select the pre-war junior car catalog. Then, in the description field, just do a search on “choke” and you’ll see the part you need.

Even easier is to just call them.

It's hard to keep the string between the two cans tight over that distance!

Then email them. Point is, don’t rely on their online catalog as it has only a very tiny percentage of what they actually have. Even I (I was formerly Packards California), with a limited stock remaining, can’t list it all!
